Welmede, part of the Avenues Trust Group, is a specialist provider of adult social care, supporting people with complex needs to enjoy life.

 

We are looking for an assistant service manager to join our team in Epsom covering to assist with management of our service Yew Tree Bottom.  

Yew Tree Bottom is a supported living service where the people we support there enjoy attending activities, days out, and day centre trips. The position will include a mixture of providing person centred active support as well as some time set aside for administration tasks (e.g. rotas, care plans etc.).

Our services are shaped around each person, and we work with their families and other professionals to understand what they need. We then support them with everyday activities like taking a shower, making a cup of tea, or trying something new.

And it’s also about working with them on bigger decisions, like where they want to live, or who they want to build relationships with. 

 

Due to the nature of this position it is essential for applicants to hold a full valid driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.

What skills and expertise will you need?

  • hold a full valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • have experience of providing life-long support to people
  • have experience of managing teams of up to 5 people
  • be caring and sympathetic
  • be passionate about supporting others
  • be flexible to work across a 7 day rota and various shift patterns including earlies, evenings, days and nights and be able to take part in an on call rota.
