Welmede, part of the Avenues Trust Group, is a specialist provider of adult social care, supporting people with complex needs to enjoy life.

We are looking for a service manager to join our team to manage multiple services in Epsom, Claygate and Ashtead which supports adults and young adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, dementia and mobility needs.

Twenty2 is a transitional service which supports young adults to develop their independent living skills by assisting with budgeting, using public transport and attending social activities. Yew Tree Bottom is a supported living service where the people we support enjoy attending a range of activities and day trips.  Conifers is a supported living homes based 15 minutes from Ashtead train station which supports females.


The current team consists of 3 assistant service managers and approx. 20 support workers across 3 services. The duties of the role will include overall management of the staff and services across the location, rostering and databases, monthly reports, building and maintaining internal and external relationships and budgeting.


Our services are shaped around each person, and we work with their families and other professionals to understand what they need. We then support them with everyday activities like taking a shower, making a cup of tea, or trying something new.

And it’s also about working with them on bigger decisions, like where they want to live, or who they want to build relationships with. 

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants hold a full valid driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

What skills and expertise will you need?

You will need to demonstrate that you share our values of Respect, Excellence, Integrity, Pride, Person Centred, Passion and Responsibility and…

  • Be a social care professional who is person centred with experience in working with people with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge
  • Have a strong understanding of best practice in delivering support to people with different needs and a passion for Person-Centred Active Support
  • Experience of managing multiple registered or supported living services
  • Experience of managing diverse and multiple staff teams.
  • Ideally hold a Level 5 diploma in Health & Social Care or have a willingness to work towards this
  • Knowledge and a good understanding of current CQC/sector regulations and legislation
  • Hold a full valid driving license and have access to their own vehicle
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be flexible to work across Monday – Friday with occasional weekend and flexibility when required. Also to be a part of an on-call rota.
