Avenues chosen to run Bromley support services

Avenues London has been successful in securing a contract to manage five support services in the south east London borough of Bromley. The contract consists of three existing Avenues’ services and two services currently managed by another provider. By securing this contract, Avenues has maintained its position as the largest support provider in Bromley. Avenues will be providing support in all 5 services from January 2015.

The services that will continue to be managed by Avenues are Swingfield Court, Widmore Road and Amplio House, which are all supported living services. Widmore Road is a shared house whilst Swingfield Court and Amplio House are individual flats in a block. The two new services, Lancaster House and Goldsmith’s Close, are both located in Biggin Hill, which will see Avenues expand into a new area in Bromley. Lancaster House consists of six purpose built flats and Goldsmith’s Close is a supported living service for three people.

Avenues will be taking on the existing employees at the two new services and there will be a welcome and induction to Avenues before January.

Andrea Wiggins, regional manager for Avenues London, is excited to take on the new services and commented on the tendering process stating that: “What came to light was how embedded we are as an organisation in the Bromley community and the advantages that this has. We support people to attend sports groups and to volunteer and we’re involved with the local self-advocacy service. I think this is really exciting as we’re seeing the Avenues vision in practice, which really brings our mission to life. This is what sets us apart as an organisation.”
