Our support

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to makes choices, develop relationships and enjoy life.

That’s why all our support packages are unique, recognising the distinct needs, ambitions, likes and dislikes of each person.

Getting this right is dependent on a real understanding of what matters to them, so we work closely with their families and others in their lives to build support plans that really work for them.

We're passionate about working with commissioners on complex transitions from secure hospitals and assessment and treatment units.

This is driven by our fundamental belief in community-based support, and the protection of people's human rights.

We work hard to build rapport and trust with the person, reducing the need for chemical or physical restraint - and, gradually, the amount of support they need to enjoy life. It's what gets us all out of bed in the morning!

The bedrock of outstanding support is our workforce, and we are committed to giving them all the support they need to excel in their roles. All our staff go through a comprehensive induction and in-house training programme, which is accredited by Skills for Care. We put Active Support and Positive Behavioural Support at the centre of what we do and this is reflected throughout people's training, which is ongoing throughout their careers with Avenues.

We support people from the age of nine right through to end of life, using a mix of supported livingresidential, and outreach services.

  • All our services currently have a good or outstanding overall CQC rating.

  • Our operational staff are dedicated to their work and proud to be part of Avenues, staying with us for an average of six years.

  • Every day Avenues provides more than 6,700 hours of support to 757 people. *
